You will be collected from your arrival
airport and driven to Yasmine Hammamet to join your yacht,
meet the crew and you guide. Time can be spent exploring
the surrounding town and local area. With lots of shops,
cafes and restaurants here in Hammamet you will be spoilt
for choice. |
After a day sail and lunch at
anchor will finish the day at the marina of El Kantaoui.
A modern marina complex which acts as our staging post
for your first excursion inland. At El Kantaoui has excellent
fish restaurants around the marina which really should
not be missed.

Spend a
day exploring the stunning ruins of the City at Sbeïtla.
The once Tunisian Capital town of Sbeïtla dates back
as far as 139 AD with Byzantine forts. Roman olive presses
and the simply stunning Roman Forum this place never fails
to amaze all who visit. Lunch is taken in a small traditional
Tunisian restaurant in the town of Sufetula. |
For the fans of Monty Python the sail
further south to Port Monastir will end with the magnificent
sight of the fortress where most of “The Life of
Brian” was filmed. There will be plenty of time
to explore the town and fort with your guide before dinner.

Today you travel inland with your guide
and discover the amazing site of the Roman Amphitheatre
at El-Jem. The Amphitheater has been called “the
single most impressive Roman monument in Africa”.
Dating from the second century AD and among best preserved
of its kind—finer than the Colosseum in Rome and
not much smaller you will find it hard to leave. |
Sail to fishing port of Port Mahdia
, experience the sights and sounds of a Tunisian fishing
village and with your guide explore the old town and Medina
of Mahdia. Famous for it’s pirates, Dragut made
this his centre of operations in the sixteenth century
which caused the Spanish to storm the city in 1550 since
then the city has remained a peaceful fishing port.

Spend the morning exploring the sights
and sounds of Kairouan before traveling to your airport
for the flight home. If it’s a carpet you are looking
for as a souvenir then Kairouan is the place to buy, as
the carpet making centre of Tunisia you can see the weavers
at work and spend time choosing the right one for you.
